Is it confusing...?

We just spent the weekend in our motorhome with Coco for the first time. In the house we are trying to keep her off the couches. The motorhome is so small however that there's really not enough floor space for the two dogs. Tess is allowed onto the seats by invitation and has a designated spot. We also let Coco come up by invitation, but she did tend to jump up uninvited as well. She will never be unsupervised in there so we can continue to get her off when she's not been invited. My question is: is it going to be confusing for Coco to have different rules in the m/home as in the house? We would have no objection to her being on the couches at home by invitation, and the only reason we are keeping her off at the moment is so she is "bottom of the pack" under Tess and us. (Tess very occasionally gets invited onto the couch at home). Mid-term plan is to go for an extended trip in the m/home so the rules have to be sustainable for long term use!

I think it would be fine as long as it's always by invitation.

There''s no reason your dog should get confused if you stay consistant regarding only being allowed up with an invitation and never let them get away with choosing to get up on their own. The boys arent allowed on the furniture here (although sometimes I let them up when my parents arent home shhhhh) but when we go visiting friends some people dont care about having a dog on furniture. Thus far they havent been confused because they dont set paw on a piece of furniture without a command anyways.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the point about being consistent is a good one. Tess never gets to go on furniture in other people's houses.
