Peeing in the Crate

I have a 9 month old Weimaraner female. She is housebroken and very well behaved. The only problem she has is that she pees in her crate every time she's in it for more than an hour or two. I am positive she has the physical ability to hold it overnight because we occasionally let her sleep in the bed with us and she has no problems on those nights. She does have a blanket in her crate that absorbs the urine (and smells up the house pretty bad ). I have attempted to remove the blanket, but I always feel bad because she has to sleep on the cold, hard surface of the plastic crate. The few times I've removed the blanket, I think she was still peeing, just not as much. She also bangs around because she can't get comfortable and the noise keeps me up at night. I've also asked our vet about it, but they seem to think it's something she'll grow out of and they give me no advice. What should I do? The urine smell in the house becomes overwhelming sometimes and I'm tired of having to bathe her and the blanket several times a week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Jen & Elsie the Weimaraner
