Being aggressive or just playing

When Bunny is playing tug-o-war or stuff like that with my moms dogs, she is always growling while she is tugging. To me it sounds like she is playing, but is this something that could escalate to a bigger problem? Should I stop her from doing that?

Can it escalate? Yes. Should you stop her from doing that? Yes and no. You should stop the game to be in control of the game, to reinforce revving up and cooling down. So yes, stop the game but don't punish your dog for the behavior, reward the dog for calming down and allow her to resume the game. Using a game like tug to teach a switch like this can be a wonderful thing to have in a dog.

Make up your own rules for the game, and if your dog crosses the line, simply end the game, and take the tug away. Believe me, you'll know the difference between play and predatory drift.
