Help With Siberian Husky...

I've got a Siberian Husky about 9 months old, well mannered and behaved for the most part. But he does have a slight aggressive streak that seems to show up only in two cases.

First when I take him to the vet or a grooming place. As soon as their lease goes on him he freaks out, and has tried to bite and shows his teeth. I believe it’s because he knows they are going to take him away from me.

Second it’s when meeting new people. I have tried socializing him, I can walk him around a pet store and he can meet 20 people just fine, and then for some reason he’ll show his teeth to someone. He has never bitten anyone yet, and I’m having a hard time figuring out how to break this in him.

What can I do to get this aggression out of him? Especially when it happens on such a rare occasion? And when he does do this what should I do? Hit Him? Grab his neck and push him to ground? Yell? Grab his mouth?

Thanks really appreciate it

None of your suggestions are appropriate and will result in your dog becoming MORE fearful. I would recommend finding a good positive trainer in your area (and there are lots of good ones in CA) and working with them. You might also like Emma Parsons' book "Click to Calm"

I strongly agree with getting some positive training! It sounds like you need help with leash training, when and how to correct and how to socialize properly. If you're using the corrections you suggested, you'll have much more serious problems that haven't even surfaced yet.
