I need advice

I have had a lab for about 5 years. About 5 months we took in a Husky. They are both females. The husky lived in a crate for the first 2 years of her life, had a litter and the conditions of the crate when she was found were discusting. A friend of mine rescued her and took her and the one pup that was left to the vet. She kept for a little while, but wasn't able to do so permanently so I offered to take her. Jessie (husky) at first was very timid and weak. The two dogs got along well at first; they played and nuzzled up together. After a few months as Jessie got stronger she also got more domineering over April (lab). She seems to intimidate April. If I give them a bone she won't let April have hers. April used to play ball in the yard, now she won't with Jessie there. As soon as April gets attention, Jessie has to have some too. That doesn't bother me. I enjoy loving on both of them at the same time. One of the main problems is when I take April for a walk and then bring her home. (I have tried taking both at the same time and that is a circus. So I will take one and then come back and get the other. ) When I am ready to bring April home she is very hesitant. I have to pull her into the yard. Then Jessie will come all over her and nip at her and they get into a little fight. At times Jessie has drawn blood on April. I have tried having Jessie sit and wait and she will for just a few seconds and then that is it. I don't want to get rid of her, but I want April to feel at home again especially since she was here first. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

If it was going to get any better, it would have happened already but, it's been 5 months. Given Jessie's history of very poor socialization I'd speculate that things will probably get worse....to the point that April's health will suffer.
Jessie is trying to push April out and April is living in fear...afraid to come home... to 'her'...afraid to even enjoy a bone.
I'm really sorry for painting such a bleak picture and wish I could offer some hope.

Re: I need advice

Your problem sounds very familiar to me. I haven't been on this forum in a while, but decided to check today and saw your post. I have a lab and a heeler that have problems with each other, and your husky's behavior sounds almost exactly like my labs . . .or at least the way it was. If you would like some further advice as to what I am doing to solve the problem, feel free to contact me via my email address in my profile. It will work, you do not have to worry.
