Apparently, when I live in a different neighborhood, the neighbor's kids would charge at the fence my dog was in - yelling and screaming, and throwing things at him. So now, when a child comes near him, he growls and tries to bite them. I have neices and nephews that come over now that I'm in a new apartment and I don't know how to break him of this. He loves adults and other dogs, in fact, I hadn't ever seen him agressive before this. Any and all suggestions would be welcome, it's a terrible situation.

It'll be worth every pennie if it keeps a child from getting hurt and your dog from being put down due to a severe bite. The earlier you start working wiht this type of aggreassio nthe higher your chances of succces. Of course the dog should NEVER be alone with a child (even if it weren't afraid). ALWAYS Be sure when your relatives are over the dog is put up in a QUIET safe place.
