strange behavior

I have what I think is an odd problem. My dog Marley has potty issues. It all started with Marley not wanting to go poop outside, and going inside. We put up lots of gates and we keep an eye on him so he is not pooping inside now. The weird part is that he will not go now at all. He will go a day and a half with out pooping and then when he does go it’s just a little. I thought is was just a weird little thing he did and was not too concerned , Well today he decided to do this with pee to he has not gone pee in 24 hours what could this be should I call the vet and what do I say. My dog refuses to pee or poop but he is eating drinking and acting like normal.

I wonder if you have chastized him too much when he has made a mistake, so now he thinks its a bad thing to do, period ? If so, you are going to have to make a real effort to praise him when he does perform outside etc, and ignore the mistakes, you don't want him holding that long if he really needs to go. By all means, talk to the vet, too.

i agree with the advice given, take him on a walk and if he pees or poos LOTS of praise and maybe a treat or a game.

Send a message via Yahoo to cshellenberger
Have him checked out by a vet, he may be sick and just not showing it yet. Then the advice you've been given is great.
