Hello,
I was wondering if there were any techniques to teach my mastiff to not bite my bulldog as hard as she does. I am already working with Payton, my mastiff, on bite inhibition with myself and other humans. He is catcing on very well and the last couple of days he hasn't bitten me hard at all. However, with my bulldog Lizzy it is a different matter. They love each other and they love to play. However, when they play Payton will bite Lizzy all over and she has small cuts all over her body but mostly concentrated around the top of her neck and her jowls. In my research I've read that dogs normally teach each other bite inhibition because when a puppy bites to hard the other dog will yelp and stop playing. Lizzy however, has such a high tolerance for pain and loves playing with Payton so much that she won't do that. She just keeps playing till the point of exhaustion if I would let her. I try to break up their sessions and give them time outs to calm down but they normally just go right back at it again. Is this something I should be concerned about? I don't want her to keep getting sores and cuts. Is there any way to extend the bite inhibition training I am doing with Payton to include not biting Lizzy so hard or is this a puppy thing he will grow out of? I'm just worried because soon he will be twice her size and when he is full grown could eat her in about 2 bites!

Thanks for all the advice and help!
