Awh! I'm so glad I inspired further training. *yay*
I've seen some people use 4 little blocks that arn't very high off the ground, but up enough to where the dog can tell the difference, ya know? I'm not sure how they do the actual training part, but i'm guessing they just place them there, and say "Stand" (praise em, repeat).
But yeah, if I was training it.. i'd do it the same way you did. or with a leash wrapped around the belly so I could ask 'em to stand as I gently pulled em up.
