Re: WANTED..Trainer for Black Russian terriers

I went to google and typed in arizona dog training and found a few results. I would just call a few places, ask what method of dog training they use (traditional, positive reinforcement, electronic, etc...) I personally have used positive reinforcement dog trainers with good results but I suppose it's whatever works for your pooch:

http://www.tlck9academy.com/

were the first two that came up. I didn't research them because I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. Just call around and see what each place has to offer.

Thanks for the info. I spoke to several Arizona based trainers from Internet referrals however, Non of them have ever trained Black Russians.

You're going to be hardpressed to find someone that HAS trained BRTs. They're still incredibly new to America.

Re: WANTED..Trainer for Black Russian terriers

If it's got a head, 3 or 4 legs, tail is optional, a good dog trainer should be able to handle your terriers. After 45 yrs of dog training during which I have heard all the mystiques about new different exotic breeds. If you read the breed book etc. they will have you believing this particular breed can walk on water. It's canine training, not rocket science. It's true some breeds are better accomplishing different jobs chores etc that they were bred for. A competent dog trainer should be able to handle your dogs. This is not something I've read in an article or somebody's book. I'm not guessing about it, Its a fact. If the Russian terriers were bred for a special chore and that's the type of training your looking for, now that is a different story also you may want a Russian speaking trainer(lol). If not standard obedience should be no problem. Remember a bunch of breeds started elsewhere, and one last little tidbit how could anybody train mixed breed dogs.
