clueless. please help!

i don't know what's the problem. but my dog seems to like his so much that he drinks it that very instant he pee.

when i caught him i give him a firm no. now he knows he is not suppose to drink it. but he always continue when i turn my back around.

i also suspect that he has been drinking his pee as water because after four to six hours being left alone, the water i give him is still at the same level.

what can i do ? please help!

My dog does that with his poop. Is he a puppy?

Wait, I am confused. How is your dog drinking his pee?? In a crate? Outside? Does he turn around and lick it? My dog goes on the grass so I guess I just don't understand.

yes. he turns around and lick it when he pees. and nothing seems to stop him! once i caught him doing it he immediately sit still. which means he actually knows i don't like what he does.

he is a 4 month old schnauzer. and he does not pee in crate. he is not crate trained. i locked him in the laundry room when i have to leave him alone

this is kind of weird it may be his diet. I would get him to the vet and get him checked out. I do know a lot of times when dogs eat poop it relates to them being able to smell undigested food from poor quality food and reeating in a sense. It might be the same thing with his urine.

I would take him to the vet, because he may have a UTI, which can cause burning or stinging when urinating, which would also explain his licking when he's peeing, because it hurts.
