| Has anyone read this book? Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone had read anything by this person? The e-books look interesting but I don't want to waste my money if they aren't any good. Also, I'm leery about buying an e-book in the first place just because I like to read in my chair, not at my computer. So I'm thinking they would have to be pretty good for me to buy them. Anyone tried them? Your Pure Breed Puupy
Thanks - Val |

| Re: Has anyone read this book? I think there is some sense to what was said - the authors/editors can't even spell the topics to which they're writing? And I'm supposed to take their advice...doubtful. Sounds like something just thrown together.
I would seek out breed info via the web. It might take some searching but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than shelling for book upon book (all of which will have the main ideas in common, or at least should.) Also beware that there is a tendency to embelish a breed's history. Too many folks seek out a breed based on what it (supposedly) once did for a living - I would be more concerned about what the dogs being produced TODAY are doing for a living. |

| Re: Has anyone read this book? The fact that it says it is going to give you warnings that you won't find in other books, and that the author gives their "opinion" and doesn't hold back? You could ask any one on the street for their opinion. That does not necessarily mean the information is accurate |

Thank you Dogstar - you are absolutely right!! I'm the one who misspelled the web site title. Fumble Fingers
The author has several books on her website and I was looking at this one in particular: Teach Your Dog 100 English Words
Sorry to have confused anyone. I was just wondering if anyone had read any of her books and what they thought of them. If she was a good author or not. Again, sorry if any of you thought she couldn't spell it was totally me.

| Re: Has anyone read this book? If your a real beginner with your breed of dog it might be worth it but you can google just about anything you want to know about a particular breed...much cheaper, you can print what you'd like to keep. I worked in a pet store for awhile and the books are okay, but expensive for nothing. They only contain a fraction of what you can find by googling. |

| Re: Has anyone read this book? There is a book titled Your Purebred Puppy by Michelle Whelton that you could order online through Amazon.com or other sources, or get at a bookstore. That book is excellent. |

| Re: Has anyone read this book? Sorry again - I guess I'm not making myself clear tonight. My dog is not a purebred dog. She's a rescued mutt from the pound. I'm not interested in her breeding, just making her a good student.
My question was: Has anyone read anything by this author? Specifically this book: Teach Your Dog 100 English Words
If no one has read it I'll understand. And again, I apologize for misspelling the title of the web site or for not making myself clear on which book I'm specifically interested in. I just wondered if anyone had read this author. Apparently Dogstar has read at least one of her books.
Thanks, Val |

| Re: Has anyone read this book? I have not read the 2nd book you're talking about but I believe it's primarily to do with teaching various command terms to use with your dog. Since I tend to give at home commands in phrases and sentences and also teach some commands in both Greek and English my dogs have easily understood a hundred words. If you want the book I'd go ahead and order it. I have Your Purebred Puppy and Michelle is knowledgeable so the book is probably good. You could always order it through Barnes & Noble or Border's on line. That way if you decided you didn't like it afterall you could just return it to your local store. |

Knowing that you have read at least one of her books is helpful in the fact that you think she's a good author. I think I'm going to order the ebook I was talking about. I like her website even though I'm not fond of the ebook system. I don't think I can order this particular book because I think she only offers it as an ebook.
She did state on her web site that she had authored 4 hard cover book, 6 ebooks, had her advice in newspaper columns and on television. I hadn't heard of her and that's why I asked here to see if anyone had. It's been informative.
Thanks again Dogstar and Skelaki
