We adopted a 2 year old pekineese from an elderly man that I cared for. The dog is fantastic until we run into another dog. He goes nuts and we can't control him. He is a warm and loving dog around those he knows but is very territorial around strangers. How can we correct this problem?

I would recommend starting him on some training asap. I doubt that the dog was ever trained to know what is correct behavior and what is not, so you will have to teach him. There are many places around that you can get training with your dog, and I would recommend highly that you be with your dog for the training. You could try Petsmart, Petco, or any dog clubs in your area, they should be listed in your yellopages. I also stole a link from one of Curbside's posts in another thread that you may want to look into. Good luck with your new dog.

You might try a group obedience class.
