Muttluks

I have been thinking about getting Nanuq some Muttluks. We live in the mountains and it is very cold and icy here for most of the winter. The cold seems to bother her feet. The only thing holding me back is the price. They seem expensive to me. Do any of you use them? Are they worth the price?

Re: Muttluks

Muttluks have one Velcro strap holding the boot on. I've never found them to be so sturdy that they could exceed the limits of my dog. If she sprints, no matter how tight I apply them, one or two always fall off. I have not used them for snow or ice, but I can't imagine them being anymore secure in these conditions. IMO, there are boots that are better (Ruff Wear), but like anything better costs more. I'm not sure you get what you pay for with dog boots anyway.

Re: Muttluks

Bentley was out for an hour on Sunday with his on, running around on a frozen pond, and his stayed on the entire time. Maybe I'm just lucky with them though I have to admit, the only reason I bought this brand is because I work in a pet store so I got them for a discount. Overall I'm happy with them, though.

Re: Muttluks

There are boots that fit well, but they do cost more. Kuma has a set of boots (can't remember the brand), and he can walk for hours in them and they don't budge an inch! I paid about $50 for them, but they were worth every penny. He won't walk half a block without them on in winter, lol.
