Re: Advice on dog toys for aggressive chewers

The wubba was successful for a long time with our puppy, but eventually she pulled the cover off. She still has the tennis ball from inside though.

My dad has a toy for his dog called a Chuckles.

Has treat dispensing ends, a noise maker in the middle, and excellent sweet smelling rubber. Probably will die in the jaws of a black Kong killer.

I've also heard of taking toys like the Kong Squeakers tennis balls or donuts and sewing them into a single or double layer of denim. Just use old wranglers...yours or $5 ones from Goodwill. Re-cover the squeaker when your dog gets through the first cover(s).

Warning about real tennis balls: they contain a small plastic ball inside. Most dogs cannot chew through the tennis balls, but aggressive chewers are at risk for choking on this plastic ball if they get through the rubber.

Also, I can't find the brand name, but there is a company that makes giant PVC lined heavy duty dog toys. I saw them at my local feed store. One was a 2 foot tall dinosaur. Double stitched and really rigid. Could be a good choice.
