Can someone tell me how to add a picture to my profile? I went to my profile, "edit picture" and uploaded one that's 51kb, but it still isn't showing when I post.

You did add a photo to your profile. If you click here, you'll see that it's added to your profile picture.

What you probably want is to add an avatar, which is the little picture under your username in your posts.

For reasons that are unclear to me, the avatar needs to be a jpg file, while the profile picture can be (and in this case is) a gif file.

I'll look into this.

Hmm. That's not true. My avatar is a gif file.

Nope, it wanted a jpg file, so I gave it one. I hope that's what you wanted.

It's a miracle!

It's working because I copied your gif file from your profile picture to my hard drive, converted it to a jpg using image editing software and uploaded it into your profile as the avatar picture.

Everything happens for a reason.

Your original photo was too big a file and uploaded to the wrong area.
