I'm sorry I'm coming in a little late on this discussion, but I was wondering about something. Why didn't your vet charge him for everything he did - like the fluids and the what nots? If anyone shouldn't get a reduction in costs, it should be this guy. Since he's obviously looking to make a profit, wouldn't paying the full amount help discourage him from ever doing this again? If I were a vet, I'd save my generosity for the people who are having money difficulties, but have a sincere desire to save their beloved dog's life from an unexpected illness, or for those that rescue dogs.
