| So i think my dog is part cat Well, Lucy has always been something else, yet she has always seemed part cat, she enjoys her sleep and get cranky if you wake her before 9 am, then will take naps through the day. she is more content to pick up her toys, roll onto her back, then throw them in the air and play with them her self then to take it to some one else to play with, not to mention her favorite thing in the world is to squeak her own toys. i have never seen a dog act like this does any one else have a cat like dog? if so i'd like to hear your stories. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat my 1 year old pap was raised since 8 weeks old with 3 cats & they "taught" her what to do. She grooms herself like a cat, she hunches down on all 4's and prowls like a cat, she pounces like one, loves sun baths and absolutely loves to make her toys squeek. In fact you say "make 'em talk" and she will do everything to make them squeek. She doesn't like to play fetch and prefers to roll or lay on her toys. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat Well, this is a bit different but I figured it would fit in with the conversation. One of my cats that I am having to give up acts like a dog. He will sit there like a dog and just his actions remind me of a dog.
On a side note, I think that when animals are younger, other older animals have a very large effect on them even if they are a different species. My young cat for instance, has traits or both of my older cats and then some of his own. He will cry a lot, which he learned from my one cat and he will dog dog-like things, which he learned from my other cat. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat One of my cat's, Max, I've always thought he was part dog. He likes being with one of my dogs, Dan, more than the other cats. He LOVES sleeping with Dan. Dan recently starting sleeping outside and I think Max misses him. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat Hahaha!! Yes, one of my dogs (Tysa) I think is part cat. She lays on the arm of my couch (yes, an 85lb Rottweiler) like my real cats do....LOL. She plays with cat toys, used to love catching and playing with birds (although we have worked on that so she doesn't anymore, and I took down my bird feeders as not to attract them to my yard). But I'm sure you can imagine what a sight it would be, to see a Rottweiler leap into the air and catch a bird swooping overhead. She really seems to mimic some of my cat's behaviors, even down to grooming herself, PJ and the cats. What a weirdo! LOL |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat I joke about Annie being a cat in a past life all the time. The first thing I noticed was that after she does her business she tries to bury it just like a cat. Annie also rubs up against us when she wants attention, also plays with toys for hours just throwing them into the air, and when she stalks her prey just like a cat too.
That last one I just saw the other night for the first time, we let her out on a lead with the neighbors dog to let the two of them play(with supervision of course). One of the loose cats in the neighborhood came within reach of that chain and Annie was moving like the big cats you see on discovery channel, back arched and all. That cat just barely got away from her. That is the funniest part to me, Annie acts a lot like a cat but she hates cats for whatever reason. The two leads my neighbor had were both attached to his truck as a temporary thing for letting the dogs play and Annie actually moved that truck about 18 inches while it was in park, sure makes me think about training her to be a puller
BTW, before anyone gets on here and criticizes me for letting Annie go after a cat. I didn't see the cat until Annie was already trying to attack it. I didn't have a chance to react and the cat is just lucky to have gotten away. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat I think boxers are part cat...I have two that play just like them, but they are considerably louder. They pounce, jackhammer stuff with their paws and stalk...it's pretty funny to watch. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat lol, lucy loves to chase squearls but i think its the shepherd in her but a funny story is that the second day we had her she haden't figured out a bathroom rutine and didn't aleart us to the fact that she had to go. so i was casualy passing our "cat room" (more like a haven for the cats to esacape the dog from) and lucy had managed to jump the gate and was using the litter box it was soo funny. imagen a 70 lb shepherd using a litter box like the cats. the cats got cranky at us for leting her use it so we had to hide it form her. she now comes and gets us it she has to go, just thought it as a funny site. |

| Re: So i think my dog is part cat The youngest beagle climbs trees. We have had to relandscape the backyard because of him and are down to two fruit trees that are well away from the fence. I caught him in both trees this weekend. He also likes to sit on the arm of the recliner. |
