We are adopting this pup that wandered into our shop this week.
I take her to the vet tomorrow to get her shots.
She had no collar and is covered in flees and has a few "hot spots" from scratching.
Our shop is located in an area near a very busy intersection and if she belonged to someone they were not taking care of her. We are also in an area where most people own pitbulls that stay chained to trees all day or dogs that get run over because they are left to roam.
She will be very well taken care of by us.
Here's a few pics I took. I'd like opinions on what mixed breed she may be.
She's very sweet and mellow.
Considering names:
Mellow Yellow (Mel)
Lanie (because our shop is Lane's Hi-Tech)
the bridge of her nose is very wide
also how old would you think she is? She will eat dry food, but she's a little unsure about it. Her teeth are very tiny, but her paws are huge...LOL

I was gonna say the same. And maybe somehow mixed with a Shepherd???
Those paws are huge! I like the name Lanie. It's short and sweet.
That's a very handsome dog, and you're doing a great thing, so please don't take this as an insult.
The dog looks like a dingo, which is to say, this is very much what almost all feral dogs look like after a very few generations.
I'm not suggesting the pup is a dingo or feral, but it seems unlikely that you'll ever be able to tell it's genetic makeup.
A vet can give you an educated guess about how old he is.
BTW, I LOVE dogs like this one. I think they are what Mother Nature intended dogs to look like until we started getting creative and developing all those evolutionary dead-ends out there.

thanks!
I'm usually pretty good about dog breeds, but I had to google that one...LOL
What a beauty! I love both names - I think I lean towards Lanie though. Will she be the new store mascott?
She looks like....some kind of shepherd, shiba inu, chow, and so on and so forth.
Perhaps 4-6 months? Goodness, what a pretty girl - thank you for taking care of her!

no insult taken at all.
Infact, I had already had that thought. Other suggestions have been anywhere from Akita, Cattle dog, Husky....along those lines.
I really don't mind her being a mutt at all, they usually make the best pets.
It's been several years since we've had a dog at the shop. I think my husband and the workers will enjoy her. She will not be there for protection, only as a compainion. We have an alarm system and she will be kept inside at night.
We've had many strays drop by before and we've always either had family adopt them or find good homes. Currently at home I have a 1 yr old cat that we found in the engine compartment of a customers car. I also have 2 female Cairn Terriers at home, so it's a full house.... LOL

Re: What am I????
i will have to agree w/ Ron on this.....but she may be Aust. Cattle Dog mix.....could also be Kelpie mix.....Shiba mix.....Shep mix.....and the list goes on.......
but i would lean more towards the ACD or Dingo......
for age you can pretty much figure that when she starts losing her puppy teeth (front top and bottom first) she is approx 4 mo......molars and k-9's follow around 5-6 mo.....
I thought she looked like a corgi cross yellow lab! There's someone on here with a dog who looks similar, can't remember the name but her avatar is of the dog flying along a hallway!
I don't know what mix she might be as I see many in her, but she certainly has adorable down. That cute little happy face. I'm glad you took her in, and I bet she'll pay you back for it with a lifetime of love.
I too see many mixes in her especially GSD/ Shiba-Inu, and many more but no matter what sheis gorgeos and good for you for rescuing her so just enjoy her for what she is and that sure is cute. I think she is probably around 4/5 month old. I think the name Lanie rally suits her. Good luck with her so glad you found each other.

Yeah That's what I was gonna say. I also think around 4 months. My first thought was akita, but I think more corgi yellow lab. Beautiful dog, you don't see many like that on the street. Good luck with her. I also like Lanie.
My friend has a white shepherd and husky mix and she looks almost exactly like your puppy except Mia is white. Maybe she is husky yellow lab cross?
Lanie is such a cute name, I think it would suit her. Congratulations BTW and good for you for rescuing the cute little girl!
I'm going to add my 2 cents here and say husky mix - with what I don't know, but she has the husky head shape and ears. She is absolutely adorable. She has a very happy face. I'm sure she was sent to you for a reason.
I'm sure she'll be a great addition to your staff. I also like Lanie for her name.
My first thought was Akita/Lab mix, and then I looked some more and started thinking maybe ACD...and maybe a bit of shepherd. Whatever she is, they should make that a new breed...She is BEAUTIFUL!
My first thought was Australian dingo but unless u live in Australia it would be very unlikely as it is illegal to export dingos except for zoos and what not. Here is some puppy dingo pics to compare with - The last photo is an American dingo and pups.
