Re: What am I????

ACD were bred from dingos and rough collies by the early cattle people in Australia bout 200 years ago so is likely it is a ACD looking similar as a puppy to dingos.

Through many generations of crossbreeding, it was the combination of the Blue Merle Smooth-Coated Collie, Dingo, Australian Kelpie, Dalmatian, and Bull Terrier that resulted in today's Australian Cattle Dog (ACD)

Re: What am I????

officially her new name is Laney

Vet visit went very well.
She seems to be about 12-14 weeks old
No microchip found.
Vet agreed that she had ACD features and personality.

She did have round, hook and whip worms, so we are doing a 3 day deworming medication to be followed up in 3 weeks and 3 months.

Got her on heartworm prevention and Advantix for flee control.
Gave her a bath after the visit so hopefully she will be feeling not so itchy really soon.

She's a happy dog and seems to love us already

2nd round of shots in 3 weeks

Re: What am I????

I love happy endings.

I've mention a few (hundred) times an Irish setter that literally found me on the streets of Santa Barbara. After searching for the owner, I named her, updated shots and adjusted my life around hers.

Then somebody recognized her. I called the owner. He came and picked her up. I made sure he heard the story about what her life was like since she came to live with a beach-bum scuba instructor. I couldn't remember when I felt so misreable.

Two hours later, he called me. He told me there was no way he could provide the kind of attention and life she was getting from me. If I still wanted her, I could come and get her. He refused to let me pay him.

She was nine years old and I had her for five years. She was an exceptional (and grateful) dog and I'm sure yours will be as well.

What an adorable cutie. She looks like a Shiba Inu/Cattle Dog mix.
I like the name Lanie. It is a pretty name for a pretty girl.
Give her the best care and love she deserves.
