Re: Fave dog toy & biggest disappointment

Riley likes any small stuffed animal he can find. Hasn't destroyed any of them yet. He especially likes toys with squeakers and will drive me nuts squeaking on them. He also hates the Kong. I've tried all sorts of different goodies inside but he won't touch it. He also loves plastic water bottles. It takes him awhile to get them in his mouth and once he does he'll prance around the house like he's saying "look at me I did it!"

I don't know if it's Elsa's favorite toy, but it sure is mine. I gave her a Tug-a-jug today Tug-A-Jug, and it took her 2 hours to finish her evening meal. That statistic puts the Buster Cube to shame. I'm sure tomorrow she'll have it down to an hour, but who am I to beg?

Re: Fave dog toy & biggest disappointment

It's hard to say what their favorite toy is because they really love all kinds- soft squeaky ones, bones, rope toys, balls, etc. I think they play with all of them on an equal basis.

The two toys that that they don't usually give the time of day unless they have food in them are the kong and busy buddy squirrel. But they're both really good for treat dispensing.

The one that really seems to be falling flat though is the tug a jug. I ordered one and it came in the mail today. Both dogs thought it was some kind of scary alien toy. I'm trying to acclimate them to it slowly and hopefully they'll like it more eventually.

Re: Fave dog toy & biggest disappointment

Chloe's most favorit toy is her flossy bone, she is also very partial to stuffed animals....she rips their heads off, pulls out the stuffing and then plays with the empty body...morbid I know! The biggest disappointment was the kong I bought for her. She never even touched it, even when I put treats in it or peanut butter (her favorite) she will leave it for Sadie after licking the peanut butter out of it.
Sadie's favorite toy is her kong and she also loves stuffed animals, she plays with the heads and prefers to chews its eyes out...also morbid, haha! And the biggest disappointment toy wise for her was the flossy bone and the canine einstine toy. She picked up the einstein toy and left it outside where it remains to this day because when I bring it inside she brings it right back outside when we let her out. Her flossy isn't interesting enough for her I guess....Chloe stole it after a few days!

Favorite toys around here are used socks.
Biggest toy disappointments are as follows, Kongs, Cuz, Ball that they roll around and food falls out of it, millions of squeeky toys, and stuffies.
But, their dimwitted "mom" keeps on buying the toys....
Should just buy them socks.

Buy a big pack of cheap socks, wear them for a week. Sell them on the internet as "best dog toy ever" for $9.99 (plus S&H).

Re: Fave dog toy & biggest disappointment

Hands down Belle's favorite toy is a tennis ball. I always find them collected around her food bowl because she must carry them around and realize "oh, I'm hungry!" though I've rarely seen her do this.

My step dad is a tennis coach so I have a never ending supply of nicely worn semi-flat balls (hint: the worn out ones hold less saliva and dirt!). He used to bring big bags of them home and we'd dump out the whole thing in front of Belle and laugh hysterically during the ensuing madness. She'll come running if she hears one bounce. Occasionally I'll catch her rolling around on the floor propping it above her face with her paws. Seriously, if there were no tennis balls, she'd probably wither away and die.

The biggest disappointment thus far is the Kong, unless it's stuffed with ice cream, and I have to be feeling pretty guilty or it has to be a big day for her to get that. Our other poodle loved them, but we had to take them away when they started marking up the walls really badly.

The other disappointment was a tennis ball on a rope contraption I bought to play tug o' war with her. The white knotted rope toys make her gums bleed and she breaks the fibers. She won't pull on the ball portion, only the whimpy rope and that's not going to last. So for now, it's an obnoxious flingy toy.
