hello fellow dog owners...and dog lovers...my pittbull "baby" is a sweetie ive posted a few threads on here latly maby some of you remember any ways...i was wondering if shaking while shes asleep is normal?...the first time she i noticed it i thought she was having a seizure...i woke her up n it stoped...she dose it evry night in im wondering maby shes havin nightmares about her past life.."i rescured her from a horible location"...she dosent shake at all when shes up..only after she falls asleep any 1 noe what this is?
Sounds like she is dreaming You can continue to wake her up gently when she starts to shake. You say this is happening every night...how much exercise does she get during the day?
haha I have a 8 week old pitbull puppy & he shakes, barks, whines, & growels in his sleep. It is nothing more then a dream im almost positive! Us humans talk, groan, scream & jump in our sleep so it should be no different to dogs. I really wouldnt give it much thought really, my puppy does it EVERYTIME he sleeps & ive had alot of pupies its NOTHING to worry about honest. Just let him sleep & have his little dream. Good dream or nightmare it all the same, im sure he is just playing in his dream so you will see alot of shaking & run like movment!
thax for the replys....she gose for 4 or 5 walks aday all about 15 20 min a each...she runs after squirles like 9 times a day...we play hide n seek n the house 2 or 3 times a day"involves"...lots of runnin up n down stairs and wrestleing...

Aww... that is so cute & sounds alot like my puppy! You see... she is proubably dreaming of playing with you! This is good not bad!
Pretty sure my beagle has hunted down grizzly bears, killed them, and eaten them in his sleep.... just based on his barking, shaking, moving, and growling while asleep
This is all pretty normal... and incredibly funny!
All 3 of my dogs shake and twitch in their sleep, sometimes letting out little barks, growls, or wimpers. Also, often their little legs will be moving just as if they're running. And the dog I used to have also did the same thing. I attribute it to dreams, just like I myself have.
I agree she is dreaming lol. my Meadow does that sometimes. sometimes she's like running but Meadow often whimper while she is sleeping (her eyes are open a bit lol) . here check it out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41Y_ytN4cqs
