Jasper's sick

Little Jasper, my Saint Bernard, is sick. The poor little guy has had diarrhea all day. I don't know if he got into something or just caught a bug, but boy, what ever it is has a hold on his digestive system. I would be totally freaking out because of the profuse diarrhea (I'm talking profuse, like a scene from the exorcist, just from the opposite end), if not for the fact that he's been drinking plenty of water, he still has a good appetite, and I keep checking his mucus membranes and they are nice and moist. And he's playing like normal. But, even with his acting fine, I still am watching him like a hawk, and if he still has it tomorrow, he will be taking a trip to the doggy ER. I did give him a dose of pepto (after calling the vet at the ER and getting the approval), so I hope that will help his symptoms while he fights off whatever got him. I'll keep you all posted on his progress.

Re: Jasper's sick

My mother has had problems in the past with her dog and with the vets permission gave him Immodium it worked great. I had to change dog foods for one of mine ever though she had been great and hadn't had a problem with the food she was on previous. I can also say since I changed them all I can sleep better at night without all the gas they had!
