Found A Tick/flea?

I found something that looked like a flea on my dog. It moved quickly and I got it when it went under my dog's belly [barely any hair] so it couldn't hide. I don't know if it was a fle a or a tick. If it's a flea, that means there's money of it right? I'm worried that it got some on my family's members.

I just had it confirmed that it was a flea. There's bount to be more to it.

I'm panicing right now. The fleas are probably all over the house which explains why it's been scratching itself awkwardly by rubbing its belly on the ground!

Can I please have a recommendation on a chihuahua flea medicine please?

if you call your dogs Vets office, i'm sure they will reccomend a Shampoo to use on your doggie. I can't reemember what i used on emy dog when she had it. But what i suggest is that you clean your WHOLE house. jsut in case. i remember i had to do that.

Some questions, please answer and do take offense.
Is this your dog?
How old are you?
Do you have any help taking care of the dog?
Whats your ability in making decissions, like can you choose a vet or is someone else responsible.

Know this will help us give you better advise.

-It's my family's, so yes.

How old are you?
-Fourteen.

Do you have any help taking care of the dog?
-My family

What's your ability in making decisions, like can you choose a vet or is it someone else's responsibility.
-My dad's. NOT mine.

Thanks.
I bought a shampoo, a spray, and a collar [thin, dont worry] that'll get rid of fleas, ticks, and larvae.

Be careful about overtreating with flea products - they can be toxic if given in large amounts. I would talk to your dad about ordering some flea medication like Advantage or Frontline. It's not very expensive for a small dog, and only needs to be applied every 30-45 days.
