| New White Shepherd I just recently adopted a White German Shepherd. Wasn't really planned but man is he adorable and already partially trained. Just wanted to share my excitement. I haven't had a dog of my own in years. Wasn't planning on him either but apparently was meant to be!!!
And here he is. The kids are gonna love it. With those pink ears he kinda resembles the Easter Bunny!! hehe..

| Re: New White Shepherd yeah...we are probably gonna take him for his first walk tonight so we will see how many head turns we get. He's a little shy and skiddish so he can use the socialization as well. Should be fun. |

| Re: New White Shepherd Congratulations. I also adopted a White German Shepherd just over 1 year ago. He looks very much like your guy in size and build. Buck is 100 lbs of solid muscle, but he's the sweetest boy on earth. I wish you the best with him.
How old is he anyway??? |

| Re: New White Shepherd I thought he looked young. Wait til he gets older and fills out, bet he's close to 100. He'll be handsome no matter what!
Keep working on his training. If he's going to be that big, he'll need to be controllable. Buck was out of control when I got him. I started working with him and found that he had some training on him. I just needed to get him to focus on it and we went from there. Now, he's the perfect dog |

| Re: New White Shepherd Yea....the vet told the people I got him from that he was big for his age He honestly is trained pretty well already and is just a big sweetie! I could not have asked for a better dog. I am working with him a few minutes every night on the training. He works for pretty much everything right now and he just loves it. Whether it be sitting to get food. Whatever. The attention span isn't the greatest sometimes but I expect that at 5 months. I'm working on him every night though. Even if it's only 5 minutes a few times a day. He picks up things very quick. I taught him to lie down in about 5 minutes I think and he as it down pat. So we will work on a new thing every night and refresh the old and go from there. We took him for his first walk last night and he did awesome. For his first time he was excellent on the leash. Didn't pay much attention to distractions or other dogs. Had a good time! |

| Re: New White Shepherd The thing I love about Buck, my WGSD, is his personality. He's very calm, quiet, smart, confident and the biggest GOOF in the world. He's just silly. I love that. He makes me laugh! Chazz is so intense that Buck is a nice change from that. I wish I had known Buck when he was a puppy. I'd love to know why he likes to sleep under the covers like a cat, or why he has this intense need to sit in my lap. |

| Re: New White Shepherd yeah...Brock is a piece of work. I mean that in the nicest way possible too. He is so laid back it is a nice change for someone like me who is high strung and pretty anal. I cannot convince him though that it is okay to come up in the chair or on the couch with me. So far he doesn't want any part of that. We will see as time goes on how he changes. We love every minute so far. |
