Question Can't find pet friendly lodgings in so cal

The only hotel or motel I can find in the venice beach santa monica area that is pet friendly is Lowes in Santa Monica, but they are a luxury hotel that I cannot afford for this trip (350/night).

I have tried vacation rentals through several websites and am unhappy to report that MANY businesses list themselves as accepting pets, and then when I call to get reservations, they say NO PETS.

Isn't this against the law or something? I cannot tell you how much time I have wasted. I am compiling a list of these liars. In the meantime, can anyone help me?

Thanks

I definitely think you can sue them for false advertisement, i'm not too sure how it's supposed to work though. I think it's supposed to be if you actually reserved a room and brought your pet and then they turn you away, then i think you can sue. And i'm guessing you have brought up that fact to the hotel/motel owners. Of course if you didn't you could just make the reservation and then bring your dogs and if they try to turn you away break out the ad and break some balls threatening to sue them.

Goodness, what's the point of lying about allowing pets anyway? You probably could get them in trouble for false advertising. Hehe, I know there have been a couple times I've snuck my dogs and cats into hotels. NOT the best idea I might add.

Check with Motel 6. All of them in Colorado accept animals. You can't leave them alone in the room, but I couldn't think of a reason to do that in the first place. :-)
