| Re: Pet insurance? I got VPI insurance when I first got my dog. It covers up to 8,000 for a year, with a $50 deductible for each occurence. I use it like a catastrophic policy and intend to use it if I have a large vet bill. For minor visits, I just pay because they are usally under the $50 deductable. It really gives me piece of mind, knowing that if something really bad happens to my dog, I won't be worrying where I am going to get thousands of dollars to pay for the possible vet bills. The cost is $135 a year. Some people suggest saving money every month and putting it in a bank, but it takes years and years to save up 8 grand for most people. |

I would still call their 800 number and ask them. |

| Re: Pet insurance? I can't swear to it, but I think there is a company that accepts pre-existing conditions but your premiums are higher. You might want to investigate further.
I also have VPI which I haven't had to test yet but for the monthly premium you can't get a better deal. |

| Re: Pet insurance? Vetinsurance has a lifetime coverage of $20,000 and premiums don't change as the pet ages. Check their website and compare to other companies. www.vetinsurance.com |

| Re: Pet insurance? One of my good friends had a pet that had a bout with cancer. He didn't have any pet insurance and it was very expensive. He ended up spending over $2,800 in bills. It is definitely worth looking into, just make sure you know what your are getting for your money every policy is different. |
