| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? I was talking to my neighbour he other day and she said the grossest thing her dog has ever eaten was a roadkill raccoon. They went camping and they took the dogs for a walk and half way down the drive way the dog just went nuts and ran into the ditch where they found him yanking at the dead raccoon.....innards everywhere...GROSS!! Her other dog likes to eat bird poop especially if it is dried on the porch. |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? Oh I've got a good one. I've never been a person to get grossed out by things - but on this particular occassion I couldn't stop gagging.
Lakota and I were out hiking in a rocky canyon. Hidden in between some rocks there was HUMAN poop with tiolet paper. Lakota ATE a peice off before I could utter the words, "NO!" His breath was rank.
Just recounting this makes me sick. |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? I found our 5 month old mastiff/golden mix with a petrified frog chewing it like a piece of jerky. Come to think of it, I guess it isn't that much different...
All of our dogs think that cat poo (AKA "kitty crunchies") are the best treat in the world. Has anyone else noticed that dogs ALWAYS want to give you kisses after they have consumed something nasty? |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? We have a huge problem with hunters dumping out deer "parts" around my house. The nastiest thing I saw Eddie chewing on was a deer head. I, of course, took it away from him and threw it in the woods. A few days later, I found it again in the front yard. I eventually threw it on the roof of one of our out- buildings, where he can't reach it. I tried burying it, etc, but he dug it up.
I have never seen him catch a mouse or anything. I can't imagine what I'd do if he actually caught one with me present. EWWWWW!! |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? When I had Boxers out in the country, they would eat, or try to eat, anything they found interesting including:
- cow poo (their faces would be green with it, and then they'd try to wipe off on me)
- bullfrogs
- roadkill (adding a lovely scent to the doggies)
- duckweed
- moles, voles, mice
- rabbits
- dead birds, baby birds
My current dog Tanner specializes in bugs, often chasing after them and jumping to snare them mid-air. I had to rescue a slobber-coated daddy-longlegs once, she didn't quite know what to make of the long-legged spider. I've seen her stalking crickets, using those giant ears to triangulate on their position. She'll try to go after wasps and bees, too, and I suppose one of these days I'll hear a big yelp when she gets one. Quote: |
I had one dog throw up and the other ate it I then ran to the bathroom myself, I have a strong stomach but that one I could not handle!
| And if you didn't make it to the bathroom, your dog would be eating yours, too. |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? Betty has eaten all sorts.....poop - dog's poop, her own, ducks, birds etc. leaves, sticks, feathers, mud, bugs, worms, wasps....
I catch her sometimes trying to eat cigarette butts. For a beagle, this is rather ironic I always grab them off her!! |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? Hannah did not go in the fountain, but seemed to be happy hanging around the edge. The water kept getting low, then high, and she did not want to get caught in it.
I've been trying to update her site every few days with more photos. |

| Re: What is the grossest thing your dog has eaten? haha....ever since seeing my dad and uncle have to wrestle a 62 incher out of Lake Erie.....I will never swim in that lake again. Aside from the fact that it is way to polluted for my liking still....those fish have some NASTY teeth, like giant needles!
The one Chloe tried to eat was 6.5 feet long and its head was bigger than Chloe's body. I mean when a fish is big enough to eat me or my dog.....I'll pass on the swimming part haha! |
