Hound Day At The Dog Park

My daughter and I took Esther and Zeke to the dog park today. Zeke was about the only non-hound there.

The were two bloodhounds, siblings, that chased Esther back and forth (in full bay) while she chased her tennis ball. They were respectful enough of her to not get in her way and the owner seemed grateful for the exercise. They had no interest in chasing a tennis ball, but they had a great time chasing the Plott hound.

That same owner had a pair of bassets - also siblings. They were mostly interested in howling in Zeke's face until he finally had enough and got ahold of one of their ears. (That's what happens when you spend most of your waking hours playing with a Plott hound.)

It was a successful outing and both dogs crashed in the car on the ride home. But the time we got here, they were ready to play again.

I actually think I had a camera - I rarely leave home without it - but I was just so flabbergasted that this one small woman had four hounds that I couldn't function normally.

Two bassetts and two bloodhounds? I can only imagine the hours she spends wiping dog slobber off everything in her house!

It sounds like heaven to me
Ron - especially as our Moderator you must get a ticking off for not supplying us with pics
We had a hound day on Saturday too. We had the fortune of running into a Greyhound rescue reunion in Hampstead Heath. There were atleast 15 of them. One started to run so they all did - it was amazing to watch. My two short arses baying after them trying to keep up.
