| Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... I'm always looking for new idea's and products to keep my house not smelling like dog. I'm sure there are lots of idea's on this forum. I can not live with out lysol spray and febreze and once a month carpet fresh and of corse candles. Any other tips or products that work good? |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... Febreeze is a god send for me, lol. I also use Method cleaners. They are all natural cleaning products and they smell like grapefruit and oranges so my house usually smells like a fruit bowl instead of a dog house. I also have two rabbits and the pine and cedar chips that I use for their bedding makes my living room smell fresh like a forest. |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... Working Dog I should mention that I don't know exactly where they sell Method cleaners. I get the floor cleaner and the bathroom cleaning products because they have grapefruit and orange oil in them. I buy them at Zheres and Shoppers Drug Mart and I don't know if you live in Canada and I also am not sure if those two places have locations in the states???? |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... I use the I think it is Glade the one with the oil and the fan. Once the fans break down (they say they last a yr) I will not get a new one as the oil just dissapears so quick or maybe I will get it and just plug it in when I am expecting company. It really smells great!!!! I also spray the doggies with a colonge called Fresh 'n Clean the Fresh Floral Scent every couple of days. That is the stuff Petsmart uses and they sell it there too.
My mom is the biggest whiner. I think my house smells great. If she smells the good smell she accusses me of "masking" oders and if she does not smell anything good she says it smells like I have dogs. I say well thats because I have dogs. Anyway I love the smell of flowers candles and all that good stuff. I like when I come in and smell that .
Maybe some people have different sniffers and find it overwhelming but I love it! |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... We like to use a vineger and water spray bottle. 50%/50% mix. We use that for cleaning a lot, we use regular cleaners too but for quick touch up we use that. Tehe vineger smell usually only last a few minutes, but we also keep downy water mix and spray that on the curtains and furniture etc to keep a quick nice smell.
Of course we open windows as much as possible, |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... I thought I would let you all know in case you have cats (not sure about dogs) but DO NOT USE PINESOL OR LYSOL! Those products can kill cats, so if you have cats or plan on ever getting one, remember that. |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... I have fish tanks and cats, so I can't use citrus smells or plug ins.
I use Febreeze, is there anything else we can use ? The house is starting to smell of dog... and the neighbour's cat has marked my front door, so it stinks of cat-pee in the hallway (door has a gap).
Not pleasant, lol.
I tried the pee-away spray from Petsmart, but my cat hates it and even though he is snipped, everytime I use it, he will mark there to mask the smell. |

| Re: Tips on keeping the dog smells out...... I have Standard Poodles, so don't have doggy odor (they never have a doggie smell like other breeds), however, I do use OdoBan out in the dog yard (potty area with river rock) to disintigrate poop and sanitize. I pour the OdoBan in a spray attachment on the hose, and blast away. It's a very clean and fresh scent. I use it to clean in the house, too, and people always ask how it's possible that I have two big dogs and two cats, yet my house always smells so good. |
