| Do your dogs entertain you? Every once in a while my ESS, Benny, does something really new and funny. Tonight I heard all this noise in the bathroom. When I went in and turned the light on he was in the bathtub all wrapped up in the shower curtain. I unwrapped him then he sat there whining and pawing at the faucet. So I turned it on a little and he loved lapping up the water. Then he got his big teddy bear and tossed it, growled at it, bit at it, dragged it all over the house, wrestled with it and shook it form side to side then all of a sudden I noticed he was very quiet. I turned around, he was lying on his side hugging his teddy close to him and he was fast asleep. My boy is quite entertaining! |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? I think part of a dogs job is to entertain us. My pup has laid claim to a pull toy of my granddaughters she pulls it all over the house sometimes swinging it arojund and she will then growl at it. She does lots of funny things. Shes my best bud. |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? My dog Sadie loves to roll in and lick my boyfriends pants and his boxers as well (she has issues, yes I know lol). Well a few days ago She came running into the living room in a total panic because she has gotten herself stuck inside a pair of his boxers and couldn't get out. My boyfriend had to un-tangle her because I was laughing so much I could hardly bend down to pick her up the poor thing.
Chloe loves to sleep inside pillow cases and sometimes if she is in the backyard and she find a smell that is particularily interesting she will lay down with the smelly spot between her front paws and just lay there inhaling the scent with her eyes closed and every now and then she will lick the grass. After a few minutes of this she usually ends up rolling in it...usually its bird poop or something else lovely like that. She loves baths though so I think she does it just go get more baths. |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? Koko my little Shih Tzu rescue, who isn't really sure she likes the big outdoors, has a whole ritual she goes through before venturing off the back step. First she has to rub her face along the edge of the step, one way and they the other, then she has to stretch, and finally she will step off, then before walking on the gravel (I think it is uncomfortable on her feet) she has to stretch again, then she will check to be sure I shut the garage door, (if I don't she will try and go back in) if it is shut then she resigns herself to having to be outside and will finally pee! But I've learned that once isn't enough, so by this time she finally has reached the edge of the grass and will go once more then it is race for the backdoor! Just like a kid that doesn't want to go to bed! |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? it never fails to fill me with undiluted joy to see Lafitte (who is bilaterally deaf and one - eyed from being shot in the head) playing manically with the other dogs. my babies bring me joy through the simpliest of things such as the exuberance of their greetings to the cuddly moments after they settle down for the night in the bed with me(3 of em, all 50 lbs or so) watching them play with the cat after the cat has tormented them, lafitte barking at an airplane that he believes with all his heart is an imminent threat to my safety(zero depth perception here folks),to see them all lined up nose to tail for the water after a romp in the yard(my 3 and mom's 2) is cute beyond words. But my dog's do so much more than entertain me. after evacuating New Orleans for Katrina in the weeks and months after Lafitte was sometimes the only reason i would get out of bed when there was no desire to do it for me i did it for him. he saved me from the depression. he would never let me cry to long or too hard, it is really hard to sob with a 50 lb baby licking your face. Yes they are immensely entertaining if you know how to watch them but they are soo much more than mere entertainment.

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? My dogs entertain me every single day. I can sit for hours and watch them play, or watch the blur that is my hound whipping around the house seemingly faster than the speed of light. Or watching my saint bernard run in circles around my lab trying to entice the lab to chase him, then when he does chase him, the saint runs as fast as he can to the house, with a look on his face that says "oh my god, he's gonna get me". Totally priceless. |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? Tanner's very entertaining. If she's upstairs running around, it sounds like I have an entire herd of small elephants. This morning she crawled under the bed, found my bag of crochet yarn, and dragged a ball out to play with. I caught her and said in my "shame-shame" voice, "Oh, Tanner! What are you getting into?"[/i] And she looks up wth me with the biggest guilt face ever.
Sometimes when we give her biscuit treats, she'll run upstairs and hide them in the pillows of our bed, and we find them when we're getting ready to go to sleep.
Yesterday she was trying to bury her bone in the woodchip mulch outside, and I told her "No" to digging. So she decided she was going to use her muzzle to push the mulch over the bone instead. In her attempts, she ended up pushing the bone along, so it wound up being pushed several feet across the mulch, leaving a trail behind her. |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? Entertaining... oh, ya! Sometimes it's not only what they do but the look on their face. My husband and I were having a little snack while the dog was napping on his blanket. All of a sudden the dog sat up looked at both of us, looked away, then looked at both of us. As if he was saying, you guys are eating without me, how can you do that, I'm so diappointed in both of you! |

| Re: Do your dogs entertain you? I just made a quilt for my friend who is due to have her baby in June for her baby shower gift. I had to lay out the quilt and the flannel backing and the cotton batting on the floor so I could pin it all together and then sew it so when I finnished taping it all down and went to get my pins I turned around and Chloe walked right onto the quilt and began to dig at it to make herself a nest. I hollered "Chloe....NOOOO!!" really loud and she just sat down and looked at me with her head cocked to one side as if to say...."what? I needed a comfy place to lay down because you are doing boring things right now." The quilt is fine for anyone who wants to know....my friend loved it! |
