Labradors and Pointers together

I had a lab that died in December 2006. Our family got an english pointer in February that is now 6 months old. He has been neutered and is well behaved. He is a male. Do you think it would go over well to add a lab puppy to the family? Another male. My duck hunting club president has bred a MH black lab with a GHRC Lab MH. Now for those that dont know these are some of the highest titles given in field test for UKC and AKC. He has one male that he is looking for someone in the club to take because this is his last litter and he wants the most likely canidate for a MH lab to stay in the club. As I said before I lost a lab late last year and would love the hunting companion. What do you guys think about having a lab puppy and a 6 month old pointer together? THe pointer has been very well socialized loves all dogs and is well behaved and everything. Both puppies will be male, and they will both be neutered (the pointer is already)

Add to your family and enjoy! The breed difference, they will hardly (if at all) notice.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone think this would be a bad idea?

It sounds fine to me. I think they would enjoy the company, especially since they are young enough to grow up together. Is everyone else in the family ok with two dogs?
