Any breeder referal's?

Hi guys, my dad has grown up with Springer's, I've grown up with springers. Now we're looking to get a new springer pup! We are hoping to get one (we're not completely sure that we want one yet...we're just looking around for the future) sometime around either september (My dad's birthday) or Christmas. If anybody knows of any reputable breeders, please post their info on here! We will be looking for temperment. Basically, we want a pup that will grow into basically saying, couch potato. We will hopefully get him/her into therapy, so we want a breeder that breeds for calm, gentle temperments.

Anyway, I hope I will find the breeder for us! And also, could you check out this breeder? She looks like she's fine to me, and I might be sending in the questionnaire soon here, but I just want to hear from the experts. Thanks! Her website is http://www.apromisekennnels.com/21301/index.html

I do not know of any Springer breeders peronally...but would suggest getting a pup from a field conformation breeder. The "hunting" dogs are usually healthier than the pet bred vairiety...in my opinion.

Re: Any breeder referal's?

I have read that...But I also read that the bench bred is calmer, since with the field dogs, they WANT them to be very energetic. Does anybody know if it would be alright to get a pup whose dad was field, and mom was bench? (Or Vise Versa) We had a VERY good dog from a litter like that. My uncles also had her littermates, and some of her littermates were VERY good bird dogs, but our dog was just too sweet to get the bird...She would go up to it and sniff it, then lie down next to it.
