| Re: Cocker Spaniel's If you are in the UK are you interested in the American Cocker Spaniel as you call it or the Cocker Spaniel which we would call the English Cocker Spaniel..... these are two different breeds and I know that sometimes we Americans can get mixed up......
In America a "Cocker Spaniel" is to you an American Cocker Spaniel and
a "Cocker Spaniel" to you is an English Cocker to us......

| Re: Cocker Spaniel's well I have an American Cocker ( to us lol) he was a rescue who came in with an older guy.
Great little dog, but we are currently working on some aggression issues with him. He has had 3 homes in his 3 short years of life thus far. But he finally has found his " forever home " here with us. |

| Re: Cocker Spaniel's I have an 'English' Cocker Spaniel, you can kinda see her in the photo <-----. She is the family dog and now that I have moved out of home I miss her so much, but my parents forbid me to take her hehe. I have a Border Collie/Aussie Cattle cross now and they are both so so different but equally great dogs. What exactly did you want to know? Do you have one yourself or you are thinking about getting one and wanted some information about them? In just a few words I would describe my Cocker as being spoilt, energetic, playful, intelligent, adorable and a whiner! She will cry and cry for food and never ever learnt that crying doesnt give her what she wants! She loves walking and also loves sleeping. Let me know if you wanted to know anything else. A few bad things I learnt from my dog, and also from the breeder we bought her from in the UK, Cocker Spaniels can be extremely jeolous of children and other dogs. We definately experienced this with ours, she would never bite although we wouldnt let her near kids that were under about 5 or 6 as she snapped a few times. We were told by other owners and the vet that they have a tendency to be annoyed by things that are smaller or around the same size as them as they like attention and anything that threatens that annoys them! But if you dont have small kids, or I supose if the puppy was to grow up with the child it would be different. |

| Re: Cocker Spaniel's I have a four month old cocker spaniel mix. Her name is Sadie and she is so awesome. The only cocker I knew belonged to my godparents and they never let us near him because he was very old and is anyone touched him anywhere besides the top of his head he would bite and also aparently he was very jealous and not well trained so he bit to show dominance as well. But Sadie is a complete 180 from corky thats for sure. She loves everyone and everything and is so smart. I found her in a box behind my house almost frozen because it was winter time but she survived and is still here with us. I am starting her in agility in a few weeks, this trainer has worked with my other dog Chloe and I asked him if we could get Sadie into now just basic stuff like running the course or going into the tubes and tunnels nothing serious yet beause shes still a pup. She already knows all her basic commands and she is comming along really well in her puppy classes and isn't as nervous as she was a few weeks ago. |
