need leash suggestion

I have had a problem with Boone's leash coming off during walks. Luckily, so far, we have been somewhere safe enough to just grab Boone and put the leash back on. It happens when he shakes real hard. I have been using a Gentle Leader on him for a little over a week now, and he is doing pretty well getting used to it, but will shake once in a while and if he does it too hard, the leash releases. I would appreciate suggestions on a type of leash that has a safer clasp than the standard one on most leashes.

I would get one with a clip like this...

They're used on a lot of horse tack and some dog leashes... they are much harder to get out of then the standard clip. It sounds like your leash is broken though because even a normal clip shouldn't release just because it is shaken a bit.

www.2houndsdesign.com and upgrade their velvet leash to one with a locking clasp. They are the only leashes I use on my dogs. I dont' have to worry about them accidentally coming open.

plus the velvet leash is so comfortable to use...worth every penny for the saftey and quality!

Just keep in mind that since you use a gentle leader that you don't want a HUGE clip that is going to whack your dog in the face everytime he shakes. Whenever I put a client's dog on a gentle leader I never recommend a leash over a half inch wide and with a small clip just to avoid that pitfall.
