| Uh oh..I have met a papillon Soo I have always loved Papillons but never really met one. I have loved their coats, their ears, their size and just ugh they're simply marvelous looking dogs.
I went to the pet store to drop off a resume, and as fate would have it. There I saw her, the 9 week old papillon.
On my way out I had to stop and just stare, she stared back at me. Wagged her tail and that's what did it. I asked to take her to the get accquanted room.
Probably a big mistake as I fell in LOVE with her!! She sat on my lap then put her paws on my chest reached up kissing my face I wanted to take her home SOOOO bad!!
Now, I don't think I want a dachshund anymore when I move out. Papillon has stolen my heart! |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon Hehehe it's just the first step! Before you know it you'll be like Laurelin with 5 of them running around your place! And before I know it that's probably what's going to happen to me too.
Nia is my first dog and my god I wouldn't have any other breed! Even if I do I'll probably still have a Pap. |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon Just try not to buy that little girl, you feel in love with, as you know she's a puppy mill dog.
If I were to ever get a Toy breed it would be a Pap. |

If I were to ever get a Toy breed it would be a Pap. | I wouldn't be able to buy her if I wanted to. My parents won't let me have another dog |

If my mom would let me (she won't because I live in her house right now) I would probably have Paps on every surface of my house. I'd have a horde of them! |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon OH, she is so cute, I could never take the puppy into the get aquainted room as I'd probably leave in tears when I couldn't take her with me. We stopped in a pet shop here once and there was this cute little tiny puppy and she licked my fingers through her cage bars, I cried all the way home because I couldn't rescue her from there. Hubby thought I'd was crazy. So now I avoid pet shops like the plague...... |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon LOL, it is how it starts, and it will get HARDER if you start working there.. as an ex-pet store employee..they sell the puppy to you for the price they purchased it from the puppy broker. Paps at my store were purchase for 300-400 and resold for 1000-1200. Highway robbery! |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon 1000-1200 isn't even that bad! Our pet shops sell Paps for $2300! And they're the most badly bred things I've ever seen!
I can't believe the quality of the pups they sell in pet shops and the price they sell them for!! |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon lol, 2300? That's ridiculous!! I visit every now and then, because I loved some of the people I worked with..and I'll take out some of the pups to give them excercise or groom them for free..and there was a 4 month old Pap that I played with that was the same size as Gizmo already!! Giz is oversized at 1 yr and 8 months..so can you imagine how big that thing is going to be!?!?! My boyfriend HATES that I go back there (when you see what goes on behind closed doors, it breaks your heart..I went into a really bad depression working there, so Makeshift, make sure you are prepared, not to mention that it is probably the stores fault that I miscarried..) but I can't help it..I have to atleast try to give those pups what they need..I feel obligated, knowing what I know. |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon It's $2300 Canadian but all the animals in our pet shops are between $2000-$2500...completely absurd.
The 3 month old Pap I saw was 8 lbs. Expected to mature to 15-20 lbs. Had a very short smooth coat. I asked about the coat and the salesperson said that dog will always have a smooth coat and asked if my Pap had a longer coat lol. It also had very heavy bones. Something like the bone structure of a jack russell. I was shocked really and that poor girl really liked me. She climbed onto me and clung to me! The guy said that's the most she's moved the whole day. All she does is sleep in her little cage and when she's taken out by the salespeople she's always shaking all over from fear.
Poor animals... |

| Re: Uh oh..I have met a papillon I won't even go into the pet stores that sell puppies any more. The last time I went in they wanted me to buy a bulldog puppie. (Yeah, I kind of wanted to buy him too.) To make it worse they wanted me to finance him. I asked what would happen if I didn't make the payments. Would they repo the dog? |
