Update on terrible rescue experience....happy and sad news

After getting such great support from you guys about my awful experience, i thought i would update you on whats happening.
We got a call from the new rescue center saying they had a dog they thought would suit us. His name is Barney. He has a heart of pure gold, a lab cross that was abandoned with his brothers and sister tied up alone in a field. Hes at home with us now, and we will foster him for a few weeks until we know if we will all fit together. I know we will, hes a sweetheart!
I moved from England to Canada last year and had to leave my childhood cat Bilbo with my parents. He was 24 years old and passed yesterday, at the time when we were picking up Barney. When i got the news on the phone, Barney was right by me and reached up and gave me a lovely wet lick on the cheek as if to comfort me. I think this was a message from Bilbo saying dont be sad, and making me see that Barney needs me now. I think Bilbo sent Barney to help me with the pain of his passing.

As you can imagine its been quite a trying week, but i feel that we really have found our perfect companion in Barney.

That is a beautiful story, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your cat, I know how hard it can be to lose your childhood pet. It sounds like barney will be perfect and came right when you need him.

when my 18 year old cockatiel died and for the first time in my life i had no pets a stray cat came into my life and was my angel and I am sure that barney is your angel.

Maybe Barney was sent to you becasue Bilbo wanted it that way?
Don't tell anyone (in case I get made fun of for being mushy) but my great grandmother died the same day that Chloe was born. I think that Chloe was sent to me because my granny wanted it that way. Maybe Chloe is my granny re-incarnated.....though I must say my granny was never someone who would bark at cats with so much gusto......

It's very possible. I just finished reading a book called animals and thier afterlife, and they had stories just like that in there.

Congrats for the rescue. Kudo point for you!!!
