| Re: What kind of terrier is this? Sorry, I was assuming terrier from size and general body characteristics. He is at least 4-5 years old, and approx. 14" at the back. Very energetic, and very devoted to my son. |

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? Does your dog have black spots on the tongue? If the dog has spots then is could mean that he is part german shepard and the lightness of the fir could be he is part golden retriever. German shepards always have black spots on their tongue. Hope this was helpfull |

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? The dog doesn't look like a terrier to me, but a lot more like my german shepherd red healer cross Jess http://i11.tinypic.com/2mqmhrt.jpg http://i19.tinypic.com/49ia6nn.jpg http://i11.tinypic.com/2rhafc0.jpg
He has the same body shape, is about the same size, has the same kind of fur, though darker.. It's lighter toward the head and there is black course hair mixed in with his fur on his back... if you want I can get some better pictures...? In your picture it looks like the dogs tail is just like little Jess's too. He's also got darker fur around his muzzle, aside from the black and white splotch directly over his nose... Perhaps he is a similar mix.....?

Hope this was helpfull | That is a great piece of information! I'd always believed my dog to be a German Shepard cross (based solely on his looks), but this information helped me confirm it!
Also, you need to post a head-on picture so that we can see his face better. Views from multiple angles will help a lot more with determining the mix.

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? Hmm? d'you mean Jess, the one I put links to pics on the post above of?
But no, I'm not referring to Kesse, the one in the "I am not sure if this is the right place but" thread. I'm going to get another picture of him, but have him in the pose the dog above is in, and post it up but I can't do it right now |

It can be an indicator of chow or gsd, or sometimes can have nothing to do with either. |

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? I agree with Nagem.
Orchid has black spots on her tongue, which is common in the breed of dog I own. I know for a fact that she's not mixed with anything.
Shar Peis should have black tongues, and I've known some purebred labs and such that also have black spots.
It's not as uncommon as you might think! |

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? I was trying to tell him that the dog looks like part german shepard. I know chows have an all blue tongue so does a sharpei. I am not saying that the only dog in the whole world that has spots on the tongue is the german shepard. |

| Re: What kind of terrier is this? He looks similar to a Corgi in the size and body length; I also see some German Shepherd in the coloring and slightly larger size. Of course it's pure speculation since there's no way to know for sure what breed/breeds he's mixed with. |
