"Qodiak" because he was from the "Q" litter (his littermates include "Queen Ulla", and "Quick") and "vom" means "of" (or was it "from"?) in German, and HausReid is the kennel name, "Haus" because it means "House" in German, and "Reid" because that is the breeder's last name.

So technically it's translated to
Qodiak of House Reid/Qodiak of Reid's House.

Except, he's not a show dog.

Pierce the Sun= All the owners of the puppies in the litter had to choose a name that had something to do with the universe

and Then I planned it so that it ties in with his call name of Hawkeye, because he is named after Hawkeye Pierce from the show M*A*S*H so "Hawkeye Pierce" the Sun. Get it? and then he has his CGC certification.
