| not cruel Ok i posted a thread asking about cropping ears, i realise alot of people are against it but i have this puppy i found her and i am caring for her, shes really a sweety but i also have 2 akitas, they have taken to her alot so i decided i'm going to keep her but the problem is (i've seen it) is that when they are playing my akitas just go for her ears cause they are so easy to get, so i honestly think it might be best for Angel if i get this done cause i've already seen dogs in fights that have had their ears "ripped off", so if anyone knows whats the age please let me know. |

| What breed? Your best bet would be to call the vet and ask. |

| Has the dog already been 'fixed'? If not when they put it under anestesia to do that they could do the ears, as well as any other thing that needs to be done. When we just had Brady nuetered we also had him Implanted with a micro chip, had his dew claws removed (which like the ears should have been done at the age of a couple of days old) and had his teeth sealed. I don't think you should/could crop the ears after a few days without puting it under so it probably wouldn't be cost effective unless you were having something done that required the anestesia. Your vet can give you the best recomendations about what it would take. |

| What the ???
If the puppy is in danger of getting it's ears "ripped off" by your Akitas, it should not be remotely close to them. |

| Are they actually injuring the ears? My dogs grab each others' ears in play all the time, but they're not "ripping them off." >O.o< |

| DO NOT CROP if the dogs play with the ears. It takes several months for a good crop to heal, And a lot of patience with taping and sticking. The play you describe is the exaCT REASON WE DID not crop my danes ears. They will learn to gauge their play intensity, in the meantime closely supervise playtime. |

| I say no. They are not going to rip the ears off. It also causes unnesessary pain to the dog during healing. And even if you do get them cropped your dogs still might go for here ears for playing. And if it is not fixed you need to do that as well. |

| Would you have the dogs eyes removed to prevent the other dogs from damaging them, too?
If your dogs can't be taught not to do physical harm to this puppy, please find it a new home. |
