Lets ralley together and help a friend

We have a fellow member that I think it would be great to help out. They recently lost one of thier pets and all they are asking is that we vote for some of thier dogs in a contest. Lets show a little bit of community for this one. Please read the following and if you feel the need to assist it would be greatly appreciated.

Last month, a foster of mine was put down due to heartworm. Although she didn't survive, the rescue did many expensive tests to ensure that there was no way they could save her. In an attempt to raise some funds for the rescue, I entered my own three dogs (Mocha, Panna, and Cannelle) in a Patriotic Pets Photo Contest where the grand prize is $500. We're currently in the lead, but there's still a week and a half left (the contest ends on Thursday, July 27th) and I'm a little concerned about maintaining this.

As was said in Dave's post, I'm going to donate all of the prize money to the rescue. Pumkin was my beautiful little foster and she was found tied to a tire in Louisiana. This wonderful rescue flew her up here and gave her a chance to experience love. However, the heartworm was just too much and three vets said that she couldn't make it. Also, she had a pin in her leg (that we can only assume was meant a broken bone) that was far too big and was actually poking it and causing her unbelievable pain. While this could have been fixed by surgery, her heart wasn't strong enough to take the anesthetic and after many, many tests were done, we finally accepted that the most humane thing to do was to put her down.

I'm determined to not let her death be forgotten; I can't believe such a sweet life was lost because of a condition that's 100% preventable. All of the money (like I said, the grand prize is $500) will be donated to cover the costs incurred by the rescue. The picture is the first one in the forth row (Mocha, Panna, and Cannelle from Calgary, AB).

I certainly hope so, but I don't want to get too confident yet. The contest doesn't end until Thursday, July 27th, so there's a little over a week left. We're currently in the lead by 117 votes though!

Yep, that's Mocha

. She's SUCH a little princess and you can certainly tell in all of her pictures. Then Cannelle's in the middle (with the t-shirt) and Panna's on the far right. My sweet babies

Yep, WE WON EVERYONE! We ended up with 709 votes, second had 416, and third had 315.
