Pomeranian who urinates on owner!!

I have somewhat of a problem and not quite sure how to fix it. My 5 month old male pomeranian has just started to pee on my leg whenever im sitting and im not exactly sure why he does it. I know its not because he has to go to the bathroom because he only urinates enough to get it on my leg. Please let me know whats up! thankks

**No, im pretty sure it's not a reaction caused by nervousness or excitement. He only does this when he notices im sitting, and then will nonchalantly come over, lift up his leg to pee on me, and then runs away with his ears back. This new habit has just started about 3 days ago and occurs roughly 3-4 times a day. Thanks for all the advice!

sounds to me like he's marking territory....you....i'd be putting a stop to this immediately......a friend used a male doggy diaper to cure one she had that had peeing issues inside...he didn't like being wet and it stopped him....also, when he comes up to you and is getting ready to mark, push him away (gently) and tell him "no"....and if you haven't already done so, get him neutered......

Could be in need of neutering. Could he be getting really excited and not able to control himself? I had a dog once that when he got excited, he would urinate a little out of nervousness.

It could just be a nasty little dog, it happens some times. I know some one that had a female pom that would jump in their laps and their company's laps and piss all over them, they never could get her to stop.

Send a message via AIM to opokki
Is he actually lifting his leg to urinate on you or is he jumping up excitedly when it happens?

My mother in law has a little dog(not sure the breed though) that just gets excited and pees all over himself or whomever he is trying to get attention from. She has tried to break him of the habit since he was a pup but it just seems to be the way he is. Only good thing is now that he's getting older it takes a lot more to get him excited. Hopefully someone has better advice for you on how to stop it if that is the case though.

*Edit* I just asked my wife and my mother in laws dog is a pomeranian as well, maybe it's something to do with the breed.
