Personally, I'd be very wary about setting something like this up with strangers online. Anyone along the way could decide to just keep the dog for themselves. I've heard stories of a person who was supposed to be one leg of transports who kept several dogs and adopted them out herself.
If I were you, I'd feel safer finding friends and friends of friends who could each take a leg of the journey. The internet has made the world a lot smaller, so it's not uncommon for people to have friends they know and trust in almost every state or major metropolitan area. |
