T.v.

One of my favorite T.V. shows is Law & Order so there is sometimes search dogs and they bark so that gets her in a barking fit. But I was watching this new show Kyle XY a dog barked in there, it sounded really vicious, but it didn't bother her a bit! Whenever she barks at a sound from the T.V. we just try and calm her down but don't scold her.

So to get to the point I was wondering if your dogs barked when they hear barks on T.V.

Thanks for listening!

My dogs do not bark at the tv but they do tilt thier heads. They howl when a dog howls on tv but that is it.

They don't bark at dogs on tv, but do when a phone rings on tv.

i hear if you try to calm them down after they start barking with like an thats alright instead of correcting them saying its inappropriate behavior your only re-enforcing the behavior saying thats what you want the dog to do.

Oh, I never thought of it that way. When I've posted something about her barking before someone said not to scold her for it since it to her probably sounds like you're barking yourself. And I don't really like the idea of scolding her for barking since she's just letting the other dog know she's there. (Even though there is no other dog. But she doesn't know that. )

Sorry I don't mean to sound rude it's a good suggestion Killerdrgn!

Whenever we watch something on tv which involves a door bell ringing or someone knocking on a door, Missy lifts her head and looks at us as if to say, Why aren't you answering the door?

Beau will lift his head when the phone rings...He looks at us like he wants to know what is taking us so long to stop the noise. He usually barks when someone rings the doorbell at the house, but very rarely responds to anything on tv. Except the movie "The Corpse Bride". I was watching that one night when Beau was sleeping on the couch. As soon as the movie came on the screen, he lifted his head and stared directly at the tv. Watched the entire thing! Went to get a drink of water about halfway through, then came back and hopped right back onto the couch next to me and finished watching. He didn't even want to go for a walk at our usual time (even though we had his leash ready and were standing by the door.) As soon as the movie was over, he got up and walked to the door as if to say "now I'm ready"
