| Yup, my dogs most certainly have favourite toys.
Tysa loves any kind of ball and frisbees.
PJ loves his "dumbell" (for tug), and his Cuz's (they drive him WILD...haha).
Maya doesn't have a favourite toy yet, she much prefers attention. Although being young still, I'm sure she thinks the cats are her favourite "toys" HAHA. |

| It took a lot of trial-and-error for me to find toys that my Plott Hound can't destroy in three minutes or less. The big black Kong lasted about 90 seconds. When I took the pieces back to the pet store for a refund, the entire staff gathered around and said, "What the **** kind of dog do you have?"
Real tennis balls last indefinately, since she loves to chase them. The fake ones (whose idea was it to make them chicken-flavored?) last 30 seconds. Nylabones (the heavy-duty ones for agressive chewers) last a few months. Nylabone also makes a Kong look-alike called the RhinoCone (or something like that) that holds up very well. You put the special treats inside and she drops the toy down the stairs until the cookie breaks up and falls out. (I thought that was a very creative solution to her problem.) It can keep her amused for minutes.
Before we found toys that work, she ate five winter jackets, several DVDs, some shoes and boots, a sofa and a quart of motor oil. (At least she didn't squeek for several days, but she gurgled a lot.)
Anybody else here keeping a Plott Hound as a house pet?

Tess's favourite toy is a plush duck which quacks> She's haad it over two years and hasn't destroyed it or the quack. It's even been through the washing machine.
Coco's favourite toy is... Tess! |

| Esther doesn't seem that big to me. She's about 70 pounds. And she doesn't look particularly formidable, but she has extraordinary jaw strength. I don't know if it's characteristic of the breed. You wouldn't think so, for a hound - even one bred for hunting bear and wild boar.
We also don't know if she might be mixed with something else - like crocodile. The shelter and the vet both think she's purebred, but how many Plott Hounds have they ever seen?
I'll post a little breed history on a new thread later. Right now I need to get Esther to doggy daycare to blow off a little steam. |

Please apologise to Esther for my having rudely referred to her as "he"! Not taking enough care reading the posts... I look forward to seeing more info about Plott Hounds. Don't feel quite so silly for not having heard of them. |

| So far Willa's favorite toy is a plush toy with a knot in the middle and a squeaker in one end. She will only chew on the squeaker end so we have to listen to it a lot. Right now it's cute, but it might not stay that way . |

| Chloe's favorite toy is her big white ropey chew. It has knots at both ends and she loves to lay down and try to chew open the knots. She also loves to play with me and show me all her many many tricks.....as long as she gets cheese whens he is done. Sadie's favorite toy right now is Chloe and a bacon flavored chewey bone. |
