I totally agree. I work at an animal shelter now, and have also seen the product of all these peoples' careless breeding. I've loaded the bodies, and had to see some of them die beforehand. The experience has definitely given me a whole new perspective on our overpopulation problem.

I would consider crating a dog for 12 hours, no matter the age, to be cruel. Your friend should invest in an exercise pen.
