I cant understand why people would be upset by that question the person was just wondering if anyone may want to breed there dog.. I have a male and would rather breed him with a dog that I new was not related to him then one that could be... How do you people think that your dogs came about, because people breed them.. it doesnt mean the dog is in a bad home or unloving home I spend more money on my dog then I do on myself and he knows that he is well loved... you people need to relax if it wasnt for people breeding the dogs then there would not be anymore of this breed..

I'm all for responsible breeding. Prostituting your dog on a forum is not responsible breeding.

I've also worked at an animal shelter, and have seen the other side to all this breeding. Try spending a day loading bodies of dead dogs into a crematory and then tell me how great it is that people breed their dogs.

Re: My Male Shih Tzu

And people wonder why millions of dogs are killed each year in the US alone just because of over population of dogs. Let's make some more to kill.

2 of my dogs are here because some ignorant idiot did not get his dog fixed. I love my dogs, but I would have much rather their moms owner spayed his dog and not forced my dogs to be born and spend the first, very impressionable months of their lives in a shelter, only to be pulled by rescue a day before they were to be put down.

Unhappy For Shih Tzu lovers

I have a friend, who crates his 9 month old Shih Tzu for greater than 12 hrs. He leaves water and food in the crate, but isn't this neglect? I've tried to approach the subject but gets ignored. It's his first dog, is there something else I can do to help the shih Tzu? Or opinions appreciated! Thanks.

I totally agree. I work at an animal shelter now, and have also seen the product of all these peoples' careless breeding. I've loaded the bodies, and had to see some of them die beforehand. The experience has definitely given me a whole new perspective on our overpopulation problem.

I would consider crating a dog for 12 hours, no matter the age, to be cruel. Your friend should invest in an exercise pen.

Also, for future reference, training questions belong in the training section, or at least on their own threads, as this thread has nothing to do with training. >^_~<
