on a better note...i was glad to of read this...

this is an article about 1 of our local pet stores are doing for homeless dog/puppies and cats/kittens. I was so glad to hear that a pet store is stepping up to the plate and helping to take care and home these poor animals....

Looks pretty misleading to me.

All of the puppies (note no adults) just happen to be small purebreeds.

Techincally, ANY litter is "homeless" untill placed with an adoptive or purchased family.

They Offer (but do not require) spay/neuter options.

Petland has franchises. Different ones in different areas are run in many ways.

It wasn't so long ago several in my area were shut down for deplorable conditions and animal health - inside popular community malls.

Going back to your article, anyway - anyone else notice that the Pomeranian puppy is advertized as 20% off?

yeah they have petlands all over the place, but i saw it as atleast they are tring... maybe it will make some other pet stores wake up and stand up and maybe possible take part in this as well...I dont think I have ever seen big dogs at petland... All were always little dogs. As the big dogs wouldnt really have much room... well atleast thats my opinion..

I think if more places like this advertised or did something with the local shelters/rescues then maybe more ppl would look into buying those... Not trying to run ppl away from the purebreeds, but the animals in the shelters need good homes and ppl that love them... and i think if more ppl bought from shelters then maybe just maybe... so many ppl wouldnt do so much byb or puppy mills...but ppl need to help out and do more than just look and say awww them poor animals... my girl is from a shelter and when we went and got her... almost all there cages were full and if i could of brought them all home with me I would have...I almost hated bringing saddie home cause i felt bad for the other dogs, but hey atleast I got one out of there right...lol that is the first place i send anyone looking for a dog... i tell them go to the shelter plenty of great dogs that need good homes...
