Well, I got Chance as a foster last Tuesday, a 12 week old red-nosed pit puppy. He is adorable and sweet and ALL puppy THEN I got a call about the stray pit mix, Stevie, that had been hit by a car and needed both surgery and a foster home. Well, how could I say no? THEN, yesterday, on another board I frequent, there was an urgent plea for a boxer/pit mama and her 3 week old puppy that were scheduled to be gassed TOMORROW. Now, I get emails and read about stories like this ALL the time. I tear up, pray, and crosspost with all my might. But SOMETHING about this dog spoke to me. I didn't even think...I just contacted them and said we would take her. And...well...they will soon be on their way from VA to PA and I will have FOUR FOSTERS! PLUS MY SIX!

I DO have a a great potential adopter on Chance though...she is 4 hours away and I have a home visit scheduled for this weekend. It will make things a little less crazy, anyway...

oh my goodness.... thats alot 10 dogs!!! shewwww.... well i thought about being a foster for dogs, but i just couldnt do it...for 2 reasons.. 1 the children would get way to attached then see them go to another home would just break there hearts.. and 2 im not so sure i wouldnt get to attached... i love dogs and i dont think i have ever saw a dog that i didnt want... lol.... hubby laughed at me the day we got saddie... i just moved from cage to cage saying ohhhhh hunny look at this one...isnt it cute...lol he would laugh and i would say oh y cant we just take them all home.... ha ha ha!!! and if i thought for 1 min i could handle all that i would most indeffinitly do it....

but i do think the world of you for taking in those dogs and finding good homes for them....

i know its a lot of hard work having that many dogs to care for i have 9 dogs that are mine i would love to foster but not sure i have any more room you are a great person for doing this may the animal gods look at you with love and you have a very good life oh you are ready do have a very great life

Good for you. It takes alot but it is worth it in the end I am sure. Diamond is beutiful wow I really love her and have only seen a picture lol. Did she have more pups and they didnt survive? Or just one pup? Strange for her breed and size I would say. Good for chance to maybe get a home. i hope all works out for you and every one gets along.

She had 5 pups before her owner was incarcerated and she was surrenderred. The other 4 died prior to going to the shelter. I'm crossing fingers that everyone gets along too...my dogs are super-accepting. I'm not going to introduce her for a while though...at least until she is feeling comfortable here. She and baby are going to share my bedroom in a nice big playyard.
