| I miss my dog :( please read We went to a party yesterday, one that I did not wanna go to. Anyway, we came home and the our 2 beagles weren't jumping agaisnt the door. We looked in the dog house, under the deck, and around the yard. We looked at the gate and it had been left open, where they both walked out.
I look over and there was my one dog(Boy). I was somewhat relieved that he actually stayed near the house. My other dog Brandy was missing. My dad and I got in the car and looked for her. We got a call, she was hit by a car and killed. We got her body so that we could bury her. Her leg was bloody.
I miss her so much and don't know what to do. The whole family is heartbroken. I feel bad for our other dog who he was with everyday. He seems lonely and walks around the yard like he's looking for her.
This morning we buried her. It was so sad. I would like to get another dog in a few months to help Boy out.
Anyone have a similar experience? I cant stop thinking about it
Btw, the driver didnt even stop to say sorry. We have no idea who it was |

| I truly feel for you. My beagle got out, was chasing rabbits and was hit by a train. Boy will bounce back, and you will too. You will always have your memories of Brandy, no one can take that away from you.
I will light a candle for Brandy. |

| I know how u feel Dont worry you arent alone I 2, lost my sheltie Snickers, and it happened in a similar way 2. We came back from the "big new years party" and he was always scared of fireworks, but i mean we didnt think there was a need to put him in *slaps head* and we came home and no Snickers, i cried, and cried, and kinda still cry now we put flyers on every post in our neighborhood, but we saw some were ripped off And we looked at all the animal shelters, and everything but no,....... still nothing I mean i know mine didnt die but it still hurts alot, cause at least u know where yours is and what happened, i have no clue where mine is and if he's still alive' or got picked up or wat!
Very sorry, i will have u in my prayers |

| Wow.. how sad. I'm sorry to hear about your doggy, I know it's very difficult to loose a pet. I was lucky enough that my (current) dog survived when she was hit by a car at a young age. Honestly I think my mother did it, but that's beside the point....
Do you have any photos to share of your dogs? That usually helped me when I lost my cat... I mean it hurt like hell to look at her again and not be able to pet her, but I don't know.. it still seemed to help me.
Getting a new dog in a few months is a nice idea. I'm sure it would help out both you and your other dog. I suggest a pound puppy. Some other things that you guys can do to maybe get your mind off things is go on walks together and just do more things over all I guess. It will keep you guys busy.
I have an idea just to take a little extra measure to insure that future pets cannot get out so easily. I remember in one house that we lived, our gate would swing shut even if one of us didn't close it. I loved that thing... made it real easy to carry the chicken eggs back inside and not worry about my mom's dog bolting out the gate. Maybe you should talk to your family about hooking your gate up like that, i'm not sure what it's called exactly, sorry. |

| Hi, I'm sorry for your loss. A good friend of mine just lost a dog he had for 12 years. The dog actually died at the groomers. They must have felt terrible, but I guess it can happen anywhere. They also had a 6 year old golden retriever who once he realized that his buddy wasn't coming home was very depressed. He was very 'lost' without him. The other dog was their pack leader and he followed him everywhere. My friends knew they wanted another dog, but weren't sure they should get one so quick. It just didn't seem right. When they realized how depressed Pete was they decided to get on right away. They got a sheltie puppy and within a day Pete was happy again. They also really miss opus, but a new puppy really helped them also. If your sure you are going to get another dog, I would go ahead and do it as soon as posible. |

| I'm so very sorry for what happened to your little Beagle. I've never had a dog get hit by a car but I have lost them and it's one of the hardest things to go through. I can't tell you the pain ever goes away but it does get a little easier to deal with. I had to give 5 of my dogs to a shelter when I was younger at one time when I still lived with my mom and my dad died. That still hurts so bad to even think of it, but it makes me feel better to know that there is a reason for everything, even though you may not know at the moment, some day you will. A new puppy might definately help you and Boy get over the grief a little better. Think about it and consider it, a puppy can always get a smile on your face. You are in my prayers. |

But really look in to a puppy............... when the time is right

| Thank you so much for your responses. I feel so bad for boy though. He lays now in spots that Brandy used to lay around and he'll lay on where we buried her. He wont follow my mom to bed even like he always does. He's just laying there by the couch. |

| So Sorry :( OMG...this is like my worst fear for any animal...I am so very sorry for your loss. I think getting another dog soon is a good idea though. I know it is hard though, just take some time to remember her every day. You know she will be in the small things that happen in life. Take care and Thank God for the time that you did have with each other. |
