Is this for real?

Do people really buy dogs straight from breeders online without meeting them in person for real or is there more to this story?

I could understand finding a person who might breed in your area online or something of that nature but web sites like nextdaypets even mention shipping. How could you ship a dog?

I know this is going to sound stupid but it's bugging me.

Yes, people do get dogs this way.
However, I would only even begin to recommend it if you were looking to buy from a very well known, very good breeder. Someone that is obviously in good standing and can be vouched for. Even at that point though, it really wouldn't be my preferred way of obtaining a puppy.

Shipping a dog is just like taking a dog on an airplane regularly - you simply pick them up at the airport.
